A Great Place to Gather
COMMUNICATE
While PACE is consumer driven, we are community focused. This focus implores us to open all lines of communication, and to promote a continuous dialogue. We hope that you not only take the time to read what is posted here, but that you also feel inspired enough to become part of the conversation.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG
Welcome to PACE's first ever blog, and the launching of our Raising Excitement Awareness and Participation {REAP} Initiative. The REAP Initiative will be the cornerstone on which all of our upcoming activities of publicity, board recruitment, and fundraising will be built upon. REAP will set a new standard in our organizational outreach, and will lead to us as an agency being more able to provide more services to more people.
For those of you who are not only new to the PACE blog, but are new to the organization as a whole, Persons Assuming Control of their Environment Incorporated {PACE Inc.} is an organization that serves people with permanent and temporary disabilities in Champaign-Urbana, and the surrounding counties of Douglas, Edgar, Piatt, and Vermilion.
Since 1986, PACE has been committed to serving the disabled community in the Champaign-Urbana metro area with a service that had been largely ignored. PACE is committed to a philosophy that puts our consumer in control, and which allows the consumer to tell us what services will allow them to live life as independently as possible.
Over our coming posts, we will outline the philosophy that guides the actions of PACE and the network of Centers for Independent Living to which PACE belongs, detail the services that we provide, and will introduce you to the staff that makes them possible. We hope that you will not only find the posts informative, but will find them inspiring enough to spur conversations on our site, and in your daily life. If you are in the Champaign, Danville, Monticello, Paris, or Tuscola areas and want to get involved, or if you find yourself in need of our help, don't ever hesitate to contact us.
We hope that is blog is the beginning of a dialogue that will extend to all of the members in all the communities which we serve. PACE is built on a foundation of open communication, and this blog is merely an extension and expansion of that foundation.
